Zoe’s One Month Report & Portraits

It’s hard to believe that it’s been one month already. Zoe can hold her head up and pull herself up very well. She eats constantly, about 4 oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. For her one month check up she weighed 10 1/2 lbs. and 22 inches. That’s 2 lbs. and 2 in. in a month! WOW!! Although when we took her to the ER on Monday night (June 3rd) they said she weighed 11 lbs. 11 oz. EEK! Here’ hoping the scales are different. Now no alarm, we took her to the ER because she had diarrhea and vomiting for a few days and then spiked a fever of 101.5.  Now it turns out it was just a stomach but, but still pretty scary.  So that sums up Zoe’s first month in this world. Oh and her 1 month pics are posted in the family album now.

My First Salad

I haven’t updated things on my garden in quite sometime but I have been pretty busy.

We planted a few of the tomatoe and pepper plants that we grew from seed but they are way behind the ones we got from the nursery.  But we will still hope to get a harvest from them.

Today I harvested some spinach, lettuce and scallions from my garden and made a little salad.  I think I waited to long because the spinach was pretty bitter but it feels great to actually pull food from dirt and eat it.

It has also helped me to understand more of the parables of Jesus because he was speaking to an agrarian culture.  A great deal of his parables had to do with natural thing that we have gotten far away from.  I can’t wait to have my first batch of salsa 🙂
