I can’t say it enough…

I don’t know what happened, I didn’t see it coming.  One minute I looked over at Alora and she was a toddler and now she is turning into a little girl.  I see it in her eyes, my baby is growing up into a fine young woman.  Why did no one warn me about this?

New Year, New Mess

image

Well it’s time to get back on the horse called blogging. The beginning of the new year brings resolutions and goals, but not for me, not this year. This year I’m going to refocus and get back to the things I love: God, family, and community. To some this may sound like a resolution, but to me it sounds like simplicity. So, as I clean out my drawers I’m hoping to be a little less structured and a little more in love with life.

She did it…

I can’t believe it happened so soon.  I knew she would do it someday but not at two years old.  My little girl beat me at her first Video Game.  We rented Super Smash Brothers and I tried to play while she tried to help and I couldn’t even get past the first level.  So, I just handed her the controls and she did it she beat the first guy and moved onto the next level.

In that one you had to keep moving up a ladder so she couldn’t do it but I was so proud…

My Little Gardner

Heather was trying to nap on Sunday and it was becoming painfully obvious that Alora wasn’t going to sleep so I decided to put down the Wii and take my daughter outside.  It was a little chilly but I decided to take out some of the gardening tools out and get some work done.  I was a little shocked to realize that the weeds are already beginning to grow up through my mulch out back.  I showed Alora how to stomp on the ‘bad’ plants and we turned the compost pile over.  Me with my shovel and Alora with her little hand spade, she was throwing compost up in the air and helping daddy.

There was even a moment where I was leaning on my shovel and she tried to lean on her little spade; my heart melted.  We dug a ‘bed’ for the ‘baby’ plants, we had some bulbs that should be fine there even though it is cold.  I guess I realized that although I will remember my Wii game I will remember my time with my daughter even more.

Back at Home

Well we are finally back at home from our LONG Christmas break.  We spent a few days in WV and a few in PA and what seemed like a few on the road, although it was only half a day (13 hours).  We got a chance to start a few traditions for our families Christmas, I read the nativity story for Alora and Corbin and then we had a birthday cake for Jesus.  Heather and I agreed to try to keep Jesus as the focus as the holiday so that is something we plan on doing for the years to come.

It was great to see everyone and I hope we can keep in contact.

Jason with THE CUP!!!

I went to see the Blue Jackets (Our local NHL team) and they had THE STANLY CUP.  So I got my picture with a piece of sports history.

Did I mention I was also sitting in one of the corporate boxes where we had our own waitress, and buffett?  And a fridge full of soda.  What luxury!!  I definitely have to get one of those.

Your Husband goes to college!

It is an attempt at a Napoleon Dynamite reference, and my wife’s new favorite joke.

But it is true, I stepped onto the campus of Columbus State Community College as a student last night.  My only class this semester is Marketing Principles.  Of course since we are in Columbus the class was cut short for the National Championship game, which I was so thrilled with.  But it feels good to be back in School although I have no idea what my major will be I am stuck between Marketing, Business, and Computer Technology, but This class is good for all three so I am still good.

PLEASE GOD, JUST ONE MIRACLE!!!!

Nittany Lion
PSU heads to the horseshoe this weekend to play OSU.  They have not won in the Shoe since 1978.  OSU is the #1 team in the nation and I must begrudgingly say they deserve it.  I don’t want anyone to get hurt but I would really love to see an upset.  I would probably run up and down the street screaming, and probably get shot, but it would be worth it.  Please God, just one miracle, a PSU victory in the shoe.

So many things so little time

We are getting ready for School to start again getting all of our Students back into school.
I am looking at going back to school myself.  Since I didn’t actually get a “degree” from my bible college.  I think I will be going back to Franklin University here in town.  I am researching now to see who would be best for me.
Plus work and being a new Father, so many things to do and so little time.
