King’s Island ’08

Well we survived our first Fisher family 4 outing to a theme park, with a little help from our friends of course.  Now, when we were just the Fisher family 3 we did go to Knoebel’s Grove which was Alora’s first theme park. But this trip was in a completely different ball park. Alora was big enough to ride the rides and understand fully what was going on,, it was so adorable, yet so hard at the same time to see the time passing and her growing up so quickly. Here is a quick video of our trip…..

4 Months

My how she has grown! Zoë has gotten huge and is eating solid food now. Bananas are her favorites. But most of all she loves everything that’s new. She smiles and giggles with deep chuckles and tries her darndest to sit up or at least use all of her ab strength and pull up.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

The older Alora gets, I swear the more wisdom she seems to pull from nowhere.  So yesterday in the heat of the moment in a bad potty break in front of the post office, I was shielding Alora from oncoming traffic while she sat on her potty seat in the van with my stand true sweatshirt. On it it has an angel holding a child and a banner on it that says pray to end abortion. So when i’m at the worst moment of the day trying not to yell at my child to hurry her poop up,,, i decide to ask her to point out the letters on my sweatshirt. After we had gotten through all of them she says “a-b-o-r-t-i-o-n what does that spell mommy?”  I told it was abortion, she said “what’s that?”.  So to my two year old i had to find a way to explain abortion. I told her it was when people were mean to babies. Her look was of terror, she said “who would ever wanna be bad to a baby?” Fighting the tears from my eyes I had to tell her that some people aren’t good and they hurt babies. She almost started crying and asked if someone wanted to hurt Zoë. I told her no she was safe. She then asked what the rest of my sweatshirt said. So I asked her what to pray was and she said “to talk to Jesus” and I told her to end was to stop. So we put together that it said we needed to talk to Jesus to stop people being mean to babies.   What a day through the eyes of a child.

Today she asked me if i could pluck her eyebrows,,,,, after a very long conversation I told her not til she was old enough to be married,,, she said ok, can i have chapstick?  We went with the latter.

All By Myself……

Well I will have a 4 month report coming with all the pretty pictures and jazz,, but i was just very excited to announce that Zoe rolled over all by herself today from her back to her tummy and laughed the whole time! It was great,,, it is truly these moments that make me thank God I can stay home and experience life with my children as they grow up and not hear it from my child care attendant of my child’s first. Thank you God for my blessings.

What A Weekend

Well you sometimes take things for granted, like all the opportunities your kids have and everything you do with them. This past weekend was one of them, it seemed like a regular weekend, but in reality we went to a historical farm and saw how life was in the 1880’s (even down to the washing clothes which was Alora’s favorite) and went to the water fountains at Easton. Here are a few favorite pics and the rest are on the family album,,,,,, video in process…

3 Months & Thriving Part Deux

Well yesterday we were at COSI and they had a baby scale, so for Zoe’s 3 months she weighs 15 lbs. 2 1/2 oz and i measured her at 26 inches long. Alora weighed in at 25 lbs. 11 1/2 oz and 37 inches long for 30 months.   I have big growing girls!

for Zoe:

Length = above percentile 95
Weight = between percentile 90 and 95
Head Circumference = in percentile 50

for Alora:

Length = above percentile 95
Weight = between percentile 10 and 25
Head Circumference = in percentile 50

Too cute Alora @ 30 months

Baby Zoe @ 3 months

3 Months & Thriving

So we haven’t gone to the doctor for this month for weight and height (that will be at 4 months) but i can say HUGE comes to mind. She’s growing so fast I can’t keep up with her! She’s now taking 6 ozs of formula every 3 to 4 hours with cereal in her bottle in the evenings with a size 3 nipple (not that you need to know that, but when i look back in the future it’s nice for me to know). She loves to stand and talk and coo! Her 3 month portraits are up so have a look and i’m trying to put together some new video too!

2 Months & Too Much

Well it’s hard to believe that two months ago this wiggly little creature who now stares and coos at me came out of my body. But it’s true, i have the stretch marks to prove it to you.

After her 2 month check up we found out she is 12 lbs. 15 oz. and 24 inches long. That puts her in the 95th percentile for height and weight. Move over buddha you have some competition.

We switched her over to a size two nipple on her bottles, because she just wasn’t getting enough. 🙂 We also had to clean out the closets of all 0-3 month clothes and start buying the new 3-6 months wardrobe. She is very vocal in her coos and gaa gaa’s it’s very adorable, but i am biased.
